Senior Secondary students have the opportunity to apply for a position within the Overseas Service Learning programme.
After four years of groups journeying to Manila with Reachout programmes, the School engaged in its own school-based pilgrimage to Myanmar in January 2016.
The spiritual aspect of this pilgrimage was best achieved with the group aligning themselves with a Christian Community in the predominantly Buddhist country of Myanmar.
Students on the pilgrimage were blessed to attend two weddings and their associated feasts, a wake, house blessings, worship, thanksgivings and taught in schools, kindergartens, men’s and women’s groups, the youth group, Sunday School students and boarding students. They also climbed and spent time on Prayer Mountain and celebrating Karen New Year.
Chaplain, Father Noel, organised another Overseas Service Learning programme to Myanmar early 2017, with all positions filled by students eager to join the pilgrimage.
Myanmar 2018 is the next Pilgrimage to occur.
