Mr Noah Clark, Head of Primary - Meadow Springs Campus

Noah joined Frederick Irwin Anglican School in 2014 after spending time at Peter Moyes Anglican Community school as part of the teaching and leadership team.  Noah was the Deputy Head of Primary for four years at the Meadow Springs campus and worked closely with the Executive to develop the pedagogical practices of the Primary School. 

In 2018 he became the first Head of Primary at the newly founded Halls Head campus. Over a period of six years Noah worked closely with his leadership team and staff to develop a positive and thriving community. In 2023 Noah was appointed as the Head of Primary at the Meadow Springs campus, Noah’s commitment and passion for education are linked to community, relationships, student engagement and a Christian approach.

Mrs Sue Kirke, Head of Primary - Halls Head Campus

GradDipEd(Murd), BSc(UWA)

Mrs Sue Kirke joined Frederick Irwin as a teacher in 2002. She taught in a number of Primary year levels, before taking on the role of Upper Primary Coordinator at the Meadow Springs Campus. In 2018, Sue worked across both Primary campuses as the Curriculum Coordinator to help establish the Halls Head campus. In 2019, she moved to Halls Head as Deputy Head of Primary, as well as continuing in her role as the Upper Primary Coordinator, drawing on her wealth of experience in curriculum, pedagogy, systems and processes, and analysis of data to inform planning and support the growth of individual students and the School as a whole. In 2023, Sue took on the position of Head of Primary of Halls Head Campus. 

Sue has a passion for making a difference by building positive relationships with all members of our School community and is dedicated to supporting the holistic development of the whole child. She has a strong focus on implementing strategies that support our Anglican Identity and Core Values, ensuring that each student can thrive in their learning and personal development.

Mr Jon Butcher, Deputy Head of Primary - Meadow Springs Campus

MA Ed(Bath), GradDipEd (Exeter), BEng (Swansea)

Jon holds a MA in International Education with over 20 years of experience in teaching and leading in diverse and dynamic schools worldwide. Jon has been Head of Primary at two leading international schools in Europe, and is now Deputy Head at the Meadow Springs campus. He leads through inquiry with passion and purpose, inspiring agency through great learning. He has presented and facilitated workshops at various regional and global conferences, and has contributed to publications on educational topics. Jon is also an accredited site visitor for the Council of International Schools, evaluating and supporting schools in their improvement journey.

Mrs Natalie Burbage, Deputy Head of Primary - Halls Head Campus

GradDipEd(ECowan), BA(Eng) (Curtin)

Natalie was appointed to the role of  Deputy Head of Primary - Halls Head Campus in 2023. She is an educator with over 25 years’ experience of teaching and leading teams in schools across the Peel region. Natalie joined the Frederick Irwin in 2008 as an Early Years classroom teacher at the Meadow Springs campus and became the first Early Learning Coordinator in 2015. She moved to the Halls Head Campus when it opened in 2018 with a view to ensuring consistency in teaching and learning across the campuses. Throughout her time at Frederick Irwin, Natalie has been instrumental in leading teams in the implementation of play-based inquiry and Nature pedagogies. She is an advocate for Reconciliation and represents the School on the Anglican Schools Commission’s Reconciliation Action Plan Working Group.

Mrs Renee Goard, Upper Primary Coordinator - Meadow Springs Campus

BA, BEd (Special Needs and Early Childhood), Master of Education (Leadership and Management)

Renee Goard is a dedicated and passionate educator with over 20 years of experience at Frederick Irwin Anglican School. Throughout her tenure, Renee has held various roles, including teaching positions in both early childhood and upper primary, and serving as the Upper Primary Coordinator for six years where she helped implement an inquiry-based focus building agency and engagement for student learning. Currently, she is the Acting Learning Enrichment Coordinator, where she continues to support students and families. 

Renee is a strong advocate for holistic education, believing that a child's development should encompass academic, social, emotional, and spiritual growth. Renee is dedicated to fostering positive relationships with students, staff and families through open communication, mutual respect, and partnership.

Mrs Vanessa Smith, Acting Upper Learning Coordinator - Meadow Springs Campus

Graduate Diploma Early Childhood Education ECU, Bachelor of Nursing ECU

Vanessa Smith is the Acting Upper Years Coordinator at the Meadow Springs campus, assisting Year 3-6 teachers and students with curriculum, pastoral care and professional development opportunities. Vanessa began teaching at Frederick Irwin Anglican School in 2018 and was drawn to the school because of its strong pedagogy in play-based inquiry learning. As an Early Childhood Educator, she promotes student engagement in the curriculum through hands-on learning experiences. Vanessa has a strong interest in literacy and has guided staff as the Talk for Writing Coordinator for the Meadow Springs campus. She is working alongside staff to develop and implement strong inquiry skills in the classroom. 

Vanessa believes that diversity makes the world a better place. She values inclusive education where all students experience a sense of belonging. Vanessa is a member of the Reconciliation Action Planning group. She also hosts a weekly lunchtime club for students interested in speedcubing.

Mrs Karen Bond, Early Learning Coordinator - Halls Head Campus

Bachelor of Education (Bed) and Master of Education (Med) 

Karen started her journey with Frederick Irwin Anglican School at the Meadow Springs Campus teaching Pre-Primary in 2017. She moved to the Halls Head Campus in 2018 as a founding staff member. At the start of 2024, Karen was appointed the role of Early Learning Coordinator, where she supports the teachers from Kindergarten to Year 2.  As an Early Childhood teacher, Karen values the importance of play and inquiry, alongside nature and explicit teaching. She mentors teachers within this realm and looks forward to building a community of learners and wonderers. Karen also participates in several working groups, including the Academic Working Group, focused on pedagogical improvement. 

During her time at Frederick Irwin Anglican School, Karen has dedicated herself to building respectful relationships with the families and children at the Halls Head Campus. Karen has a strong understanding of pastoral care and through this strength, was nominated by our family community for the 2024 Commonwealth Bank Teacher Awards.
