Congratulations to Alasdair McKenzie, Year 12, who (earlier this year), as part of the Believe Football Academy, travelled to England to play a series of friendlies against professional U18 teams Lincoln City, Cambridge United, and Premiership team Crystal Palace.

Alasdair then travelled to Denmark to play in the prestigious Nørhalne Cup against a variety of teams from all over Europe.

This experience has encouraged him to consider travelling once his ATARs are over, and he said that he is grateful to Frederick Irwin Anglican School for helping him maintain his studies while he took time to go on the tour.

Ali has also been an integral part of the Mandurah City FC U18 squad that won the 2024 WA State League Division 1 title this year.

This is the first time that any U18 team from the Peel Region has won this league, and they lifted the cup in front of a packed stadium at local rivals Rockingham City FC on 31 August, having beaten every team in the league at least once during the 22-game season.

Not only did he lift the cup and get his winners medal; he had also been selected to play numerous games throughout the season for the Mandurah City FC First Team Reserves, and train regularly with the First Team.

He is a coach with Football Star Academy, based in Mandurah; and he has helped coach and referee numerous games for the juniors at Mandurah City FC.

We can't wait to see how your soccer career progresses, Ali, as you finish Year 12 and start to make your own adventure outside of school!
