Congratulations to Aila Lewis (Year 9) and Stella Lewis (Year 10) who performed at the Bunbury Eisteddfod on Saturday 8 June 2024.
Mrs Tracey Gray, Principal, said that she went to see these students perform on Saturday night at Newman College, "They were outstanding!"
Aila received 96% from Dr Geoffrey Lowe’s adjudication and placed first in the 16 and Under category - Guitar Solo Section, opening the evening to a full house at the Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre in the Bunbury Eisteddfod.
Aila has also been busy with performances this Term, with her involvement in the Accelerate! Program, the Fremantle Eisteddfod (3rd place) and her AMEB Grade 7 Examinations in which she received a pass with honours.
At the Eisteddfod, Stella placed 1st in the 16 and Under category - Strings Solo Section. Stella also performed with WAYO Camerata over the weekend, in a concert showcasing their semester’s work.
"It was so lovely to see Mrs Gray supporting Frederick Irwin Anglican School students at the event," said Mrs Vassana Lewis, Aila and Stella's mother.
"I would like to say a special thank you to Aila's guitar teacher, Mrs Pistorius, for preparing her so well."
