On Friday 31 May the School welcomed our Council Member and our Class of 2017 Chapel Prefect, Mr Sean Hill, for the Reconciliation Assembly at Meadow Springs Campus. Sean spoke of the meaning of Reconciliation Week, and what it means to him as an Aboriginal man.

As part of this assembly, the Kindergarten students presented the Year 12s with Indigenous friendship bracelets, and then walked down to the Bush Tucker Garden, spending time reflecting on the importance of this day.

On the same day, some of the Primary Captains and Year 12 Prefects attended the official Reconciliation Walk at Boorloo/Langley Park. The students walked alongside the bilya (river) through the park and ended at the Supreme Court Gardens with guest performers and different cultural activities.

The Halls Head Campus held their Reconciliation Walk on Wednesday 5 June, before the start of their Inter-House Cross Country Carnival, inviting all parents and carers to join in on the Walk. Mrs Natalie Burbage lead the Acknowledgement of Country, before showing the example of the mural artwork planned for the Halls Head Campus, and inviting the Collards to help her plant a Reconciliation Week plant.

Following the Carnival, our Kindergarten and Year 3 buddy classes joined together to plant two more plants in our Bush space, in recognition of Reconciliation Week.
