Dear Parents and Carers
What a whirlwind, and wonderful, six weeks we have had so far in Primary this year.
The students have settled fabulously into their new classes. We are so excited to welcome an additional Year 1 class this year, and have also welcomed in our new wonderful Kindy and Year 5 families on the start of their journey through our School. It has been lovely to meet families at our Parent Information sessions in each year level and we have had many parents volunteer to be class coordinators. Please seek out your class coordinators who are currently creating class contact lists and organising social events for students and families throughout the year. We would like to take this opportunity to thank them for offering to take on this role to connect our community.
We would also like to encourage our families to volunteer their time to help with the Mother's Day Stalls this year! Please email our Marketing and Events to find out more. on communityrelations@fias.wa.edu.au.
Throughout the Primary years we have a strong focus on holistic child development and on Social Emotional Learning, following the Friendly Schools curriculum. We use a common language throughout Kindergarten to Year 6. This includes self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationships and social decision making.
You will notice new Friendly School posters around the Primary School. Our student leaders took part in deciding their location. Please take the time and discuss these posters with your children.
Kind regards
Ms Dee Fee (Early Learning Coordinator) and
Mrs Vanessa Smith (Upper Primary Coordinator)
