As Semester One comes to a close, we reflect on a term full of excitement and change.
Our wonderful new Early Learning Centre is well underway, with site works almost complete and the pouring of the pad going ahead. It has been exciting to watch each stage unfold as the plans come to life before our eyes. We are now working on the playground design which our Early Learning Staff and our 1H1 Students have given some fantastic input for as the children inquire into what makes a good play space.
This Term we have welcomed Mrs Kristy Ball, Mrs Mia Fogarty-Dodd, and Mrs Samantha Teale to our staff. We are delighted to have them join our dedicated team. At the end of Term 2, Mrs Alicia Tearle officially moves from her role as Learning Enrichment teacher at Halls Head Campus to her position as Assistant Chaplain working across the three sub-schools. We thank her for her amazing service at Halls Head and look forward to working with her in her new role.
Mrs Kirke has had some time away for knee surgery this term. We hear that she is healing well. We are keeping her in our prayers, and we all look forward to welcoming back our Captain Kirke once she has fully recovered. Thank you to everyone who has stepped in to assist in the running of the Campus in her absence.
Our Term 2 activities included the Year 6 Canberra Tour and Alternate Canberra programme, ANZAC Services, a Learning Journey afternoon, Mother’s Day activities, Yirra Yaakin Noongar theatre incursion, Inter-School Swimming, an Indonesian Cultural incursion, excursions to Perth Zoo and Kings Park, Reconciliation Week activities – including Walks for Reconciliation on-campus and in Perth, Author visits, Swimming Lessons, Inter-House Cross-Country, Chapel Choir performances and excursions, House Captain Parliament House lunch and a Mud Day. Wow!
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to our incredibly devoted and caring staff for all their amazing work across Semester One. Your work to enrich our students’ lives is exemplary and does not go unnoticed.
Thank you to all our wonderful families and community members for your support of our teaching and learning programmes. It is a privilege to share your children’s educational journey with you.
It is time for our whole community to have a rest and recharge. I wish everyone a safe and wonderful mid-year break and look forward to welcoming everyone back for further adventures in Term 3.
